It seems silly to keep writing it but it would be wrong not to mention it: it was another sunny day in paradise. We are talking wall to wall blue skies and 20C. Before breakfast we did some bike maintenance. Dialling in the gears and adjusting the brake pads for the big descent. The brakes were feeling pretty spongy.

It took a bit of time, and in between the bikes we had some pancakes with chopped banana and Kaki. We also had multiple coffees because why not? There wasn’t much else to do with the day so we went for a walk. Up above the village we did some stretching and then a peaceful meditation. It was very effective at relaxing ourselves.

We had been feeling a little anxious about the journey to come. From here we needed to make the journey up the valley to Disentis. We’d decided, because Yvonne enlightened us, that we wouldn’t go all the way to Andermatt and then use the Gotthard pass. Instead we could take the Lukmanier pass to leave Switzerland for Italy. It was a big relief to know there would only be one pass but the elevation yet to come was daunting nonetheless.

We made tofu crumbed with cornflakes, with roast potatoes, salad and a ketchupy like sauce. For dessert we had chocolate cornflakes. Yes, cornflakes were cheap and vegan.
