There was a heavy air of anxiousness about leaving. It felt weird. To think we wouldn’t be staying in Hà Nội forever. We spent most of the morning sitting around talking about China. We wanted to be prepared. So we downloaded all the apps like Alipay and WeChat. Google maps doesn’t work there at all. Apparently Amaps is the way to go. It’s in English at least.

At 3pm we went to get food. Nothing fancy just the usual bits from down the street. A green mango. Some tofu and sweet potatoes. Broccoli and bok choy. Being back on the road meant we’d be leaving the comforts behind again. No kitchen. No sofa. No TV. While we were cooking we watched a youtube video about the population density of South East Asian countries.

We did a small amount of tidying. An attempt to reduce the burden of the next morning. Mostly we lounged around. Frankie made one last patch of pancakes and some chocolate tofu cream. It wasn’t like we could sit here eating this stuff forever anyway. Nor did we want to.
