Planning China

4/7/25

Our initial plans to leave were put on hold at breakfast time. We weren’t in a hurry. Despite only cycling two full days since our last break, they were big days. A rest would be beneficial. The breakfast hall contained the usual fare. A noodle bar. Selection of salad and vegetables, including tofu skin. Soya milk. Excitedly, also a bean to cup coffee machine.

We spent most of the morning discussing and planning the rest of our time in China. The vastness of the country meant we would really need to ditch the bikes to explore more widely. It would take many more months otherwise. Our plan was to find somewhere in Chengdu to stash the gear and take high speed rail east towards Beijing.

We spent a lot of the day updating our polarsteps and blog. Also writing reviews on trip.com for hotels because they give you money and we can help other people with bikes in the future.

The only other attraction to occupy our day was the market where we enjoyed the variety of fruits and vegetables while observing the animals stacked in cages.

The world is fucked if you didn’t know already!
