Frankie was a little ill. An upset stomach. We figured that it wouldn’t make any difference to our overall timings to take another day of rest so we quickly arranged to stay just one more night. We were surprised how long we’d ended up staying in Kashgar.

We tried to keep our day small. A walk down to the coffee shop. Then hours lounging in the room watching first Jury Trial, some reality show about jurors designed to test the veracity of the British justice system. Stupidly they’d deliberately chosen people with firsthand experience of the issues in the case. Making it pointless.
Then we watched F1. The new Brad Pitt movie. Neither of us adored motor racing or anything, but it was very enthralling. Well written and filmed, only let down by a horrendous amount of advertising. It could generously be argued it was true to formula 1 in that regard.

Jonathan’s waterproof jacket was a little worse for wear. Thinking we might be able to find a new one, we went to a shopping mall. Coats were £160 or more and they weren’t even a decent brand. China’s boom in hiking seemed to involve price gouging.

On the floor of food we bought some barbecue and cold noodles for our dinner. We razzed back on electric mopeds again. Almost completely subsumed into the habit by now. Easy to understand why they use the bicycle lanes and pavements fluidly. Moment we got off ourselves, the mopeds annoyed us again.
